Vinitha Venugopal Savithri is an alumna of the Centre for Visual Information Technology (CVIT) at the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad(IIIT-H). While considering her options to do a graduate degree after B-Tech, one of her friends recommended IIIT.

Bidding Farewell to Doctor Avinash Sharma

Students from 3D Computer Vision, Applied ML bid farewell to Dr. Avinash on 27th June 2023, as he moved on to join IIT-Jodhpur. The 3D Computer Vision group presented him with a memento to express their collective gratitude and admiration for his contributions.

In the year 2022, we had two students from CVIT who had enrolled and got selected for the CVC (the Computer Vision Center) Internship program. Soumya and George shared their experience during their internship at CVC Barcelona. CVC is a lab located in Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, which is located in Barcelona.

Pritish Mohapatra received an honourable mention for his doctoral dissertation, “Optimization for and by Machine Learning”. His dissertation, completed under the guidance of Professor C.V. Jawahar at the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad(IIIT-H), substantially contributes toward the design of efficient optimization methods for machine learning. Pritish delivered a short talk on his research at ACM ARCS on February 9, 2023, followed by the award ceremony that took place on February 11, 2023, in Bhopal, India.
