In conversation with Soumya and George.

In the year 2022, we had two students from CVIT who had enrolled and got selected for the CVC (the Computer Vision Center) Internship program. Soumya and George shared their experience during their internship at CVC Barcelona. CVC is a lab located in Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, which is located in Barcelona.

Pritish Mohapatra received an honourable mention for his doctoral dissertation, “Optimization for and by Machine Learning”. His dissertation, completed under the guidance of Professor C.V. Jawahar at the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad(IIIT-H), substantially contributes toward the design of efficient optimization methods for machine learning. Pritish delivered a short talk on his research at ACM ARCS on February 9, 2023, followed by the award ceremony that took place on February 11, 2023, in Bhopal, India.

December 2022 saw students bagging 2 awards in the 13th Indian Conference on Computer Vision, Graphics and Image Processing (ICVGIP-2022) held at IIT Gandhinagar from 8th to 10th December.

The students at the CVIT had the opportunity to share a few hours of talk session with one of the first graduates from CVIT who also had presented his first international paper at the CVPR conference.
